Helping me and helping you become a better History geek

We all know how to use google search and how to conduct research but sometimes it is nice when someone lays it out for you. Well that is exactly what I am here to do, make someones life a little easier!
Below is a list of History blogs, some currently active and others have been sitting on the historical internet shelf for a couple of years. But what these blogs all have in common is that they are great sources of information and are great examples of the variety of ways one can present the study of history.

Our first blog is simply an oracle of historical information, the authors intention is to simply share with others the things they were already dedicating their time researching:

The second blog has been inactive for quite a few years but the idea behind it is something I find brilliant. The author of our second blog created a daily historical update system, instead of focusing on large historical events that happen throughout the calendar year our author highlights the big and small things that happen in history on a day to day basis. An example for today would be that Joan of Arc was burned for heresy 607 years ago on this day.
The last blog I want to highlight is a blog about preservation. Our author completed a degree in Historic Preservation and after she moved from her college campus and started working in the real world she noticed a disconnect between the big shots in historic preservation and the average everyday person. She wants to highlight that preservation is everywhere you look and that the average person can connect with complete ease!
Now, blogs are not the only place where research is made quick and enjoyable for people like you and me. Social media has allowed people from all over the world to connect with others in an instant, we all share in this joy as we log into our various social media accounts everyday. But social media has evolved into a educational platform for many. One can find educational sources on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube without even really trying. Bellow are a list of social media accounts I have found useful and entertaining and I hope you enjoy them and give them a follow as well!
Accounts like National Geographic also post some of my favorite content and are an amazing resource but can sometimes be a little formal, I tend to lean towards unofficial accounts so I can get a little personality with the accounts I follow!
